Aris Weathersby Live at Stubrik’s

Aris Weathersby is a native southern Californian whose love of music started at a young age. Growing up in a household where it was as common to hear Parliament-Funkadelic coming from the stereo as it was Merle Haggard, he quickly learned an appreciation for all genres of music. However it was in middle school that he decided to take the plunge and pick up the guitar. After being exposed to the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Guns N’ Roses and Metallica from his best friends, Aris knew he wanted to explore the mystery that was music.
After playing casually for a few years and discovering the wonder of writing his own music, Aris realized he wanted to make music an even greater part of his life. It was at this juncture that he came to the conclusion that he would enroll in music school at Musicians Institute and work towards his Bachelors in guitar performance. At school Aris dove into every genre he could; finding a love for jazz, rekindling his always present but some times forgotten relationship with funk and R&B, and discovering the wide world of latin music. He obtained his Bachelors in guitar performance in September of 2016.
After school Aris played around in numerous bands but decided to focus his full attention on his one true passion, songwriting. After sending his songs to a few managers and independent lables, Aris was signed by Plateu Music and flew out to Nashville to record his first EP.
Currently Aris is finishing up his debut album, writing songs and gigging around Southern California with his trio.
